Traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL) have many applications such as hand-held instrumentations, purification systems, optical readers and scanners, back lighting for LCD, UV light sources and many more. Compact fluorescent lamps have gained considerable market share over the pass years.
Obviously, CCFL fluorescent lamps compare well with incandescent lamps in brightness, better color rendition and stability, easy dimming control, less lumen depreciation, less glare, low operating cost and much better power consumption efficiency, low parts count DC powered converters and low maintenance savings, and the latest direct AC power drive.
Integrity Technology Corporation offers compact and low cost frequency converting transformer and circuit board kits to power CCFL (Cold Cathode Ray Fluorescent Tube) lamps. Typical input power to the circuit ranges from 3 to 24VDC. A push-push dual transistor pair and this FE16C converting transformer generates 50KHz to 80KHz high frequency at 500 to 750Vrms at 20 to 50mA constant output to power the fluorescent lamps. This demo circuit can generate startup power of near 1725Vrms, for few milliseconds, at near no load, instead of traditional Linear Fluorescent lamp startup ballast. This FE16C transformer is made with EE 16mm ferrite core, top quality Phenolic bobbins with compact footprint of 0.6” x 0.65”. Typical volume price is 65 cents each.
Integrity Technology Corporation has developed the the new generation of one transformer driving two CCFL lamps at 10 watts each at 64KHz, 1900Vp-p for large panel LCD backlighting applications.
Integrity Technology Corporation manufactures low cost V.92 modem, HDSL,
voiceband telephone matching transformers and switching power supply
